Hi-Purit™ Amino 40–75 µm Flash Cartridges are solid-phase extraction (SPE) or flash chromatography cartridges that are functionalized with aminopropyl groups (NH₂). These cartridges are used in purification and separation applications, especially in organic synthesis, natural product isolation, and laboratory-scale compound purification.
Main Uses of Hi-Purit™ Amino Flash Cartridges:
1. Normal Phase Chromatography
Aminopropyl (NH₂) groups make the cartridge behave like a polar stationary phase.
Used for separating polar compounds from nonpolar matrices.
Ideal for compounds that are not retained well on silica or require selectivity based on polar interactions.
2. Purification of Acidic Compounds
The basic amino groups can interact with acidic analytes via ionic interactions or hydrogen bonding.
Useful in removing acidic impurities or in isolating acidic target compounds.
3. Natural Product Purification
Frequently used in the separation of:
Alkaloids
Phenolic acids
Flavonoids
Effective for plant extracts or other biological mixtures containing a range of polar components.
4. Reversed-Phase Cleanup (Dual Mode Interactions)
Can act in mixed-mode chromatography, offering both:
Polar interactions (via NH₂ group)
Hydrophobic interactions (alkyl chain of the bonded phase)
This dual interaction mode is useful for complex sample matrices.
5. Deacidification or Neutral Compound Isolation
Can remove free fatty acids or carboxylic acids from a sample.
Helps isolate neutral compounds by retaining acids.
